Chef Wendy Toribio

I grew up in Sunset Park Brooklyn, watching Julia Child on PBS, who inspired me to be a chef.  Being a chef is a delicious and creative way to learn and understand other cultures; it has given me the opportunity to travel abroad.  I enjoy preparing simple good food, with fresh and organic ingredients that respect the resources at my disposal.

 

New York is a culinary mecca, affording the opportunity to work along side great chefs --- from vegan at an Ashram, regional Italian cuising in New York City, and honing my craft at various restaurants (Del Frisco's, Artisanal, Chelsea Brewing Company).

 

I naturally think in flavors, ingredients spark my imagination and creativity;  a plate is my blank canvas.
